Rock n’ Roll High School

For the final project, I chose the film “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”. Released in 1979, this movie was directed by Allan Arkush and Joe Dante, both of whom had been directing partners for years at the time of release. With the continuous use of the punk rock band The Ramones, it made sense to include a plethora

of songs by the band themselves. By blending these songs with others by groups such as Alice Cooper and Chuck Berry, the soundtrack displays the rebellious attitude of youth, and juxtaposes them with the authoritarian attitude of the faculty.

I’m Riff Randell, rock-and-roller.”
